The climate in Vienna

With a population of 1.7 million, the “city of music” is the largest city and the capital of Austria. Close to the borders of Slovakia, Hungary and Czech Republic , it has a lot of gardens and castles with a rich medieval and baroque architecture. The most appreciated tourists attractions are the imperial palaces of the Hofburg and Schönbrunn and the Burgtheater. Vienna attracts almost 5 million tourists each year and was elected as the “the world’s most livable city”. Located in northeastern Austria, it has an oceanic and a humid continental climate. Winters can get really cold with snowfalls from December to March. In summer time, the temperatures usually stand between 22° to 26°C.
