The climate in Beijing

With a population of 20 million, Beijing is China’s second largest city. Located in the North-eastern part of the country, it consists of numerous well known palaces and many parks. The country’s political centre is an extraordinary place to visit. The number one tourist attraction is the Forbidden City, the former home of the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties. The Beihai Park is also a delightful place to relax and admire the greatness of the Chinese gardening art. It has a humid continental climate which creates hot, humid summers and cold, windy winters, reflecting the impact of the Siberian anticyclone. The average daily temperature in July is around 26°C, while it is around -3°C in January.
