The climate in Toulouse

Situated on the banks of the River Garonne in the Haute-Garonne department in southwest France, Toulouse is the fourth largest French city with a population of 864,936. The former capital of the historical region of Occitania, the city has two UNESCO World Heritage sites: the Canal de Midi and the Basilica of St Semin. Today, the city is the centre of the European aerospace industry. It is also home to the Galerie du Chateau d’eau, one of the oldest photography galleries in the world. Popular landmarks include the Capitole de Toulouse, the banks of the Garonne, Pont Neuf, and Musée des Augustins. Toulouse has a humid subtropical climate with warm to hot summers and mild winters. The average high temperature in summer is 28°C. In winter, the city benefits from an average high temperature of 9°C with lows near 3°C. The average yearly daily mean is 14°C. There is typically an annual rainfall of 638mm with precipitation spread fairly evenly over the course of the year.
