The climate in India

India is the second most populous country in the world with more than 1.2 billion inhabitants. The country is surrounded by the Indian Ocean, the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal and has common borders with Pakistan, China, Nepal, Bhutan, Burma and Bangladesh. The capital is New Delhi and is located in northern India. Considered as a newly industrialised country, it has become one of the fastest growing major economies. The Himalayas strongly influence the Indian weather by preventing cold Central Asian winds from blowing in. The Thrar desert absorbs the moisture from the monsoon winds and provides most of India's rainfall. The 4 major climates in the country are: tropical wet, tropical dry, subtropical humid and alpine.
