Lybia is a country located in the Maghreb region of North Africa and it is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea, Egypt, Sudan, Chad and Niger to the south, and Algeria and Tunisia to the west. It counts a population of approximately 6.2 million people and Tripoli is its capital and the largest city. In Lybia there are five UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The most popular are the Roman cities of Sabratha and Leptis Magna in Western Libya and the Greek ruins of Cyrene in the East. In Lybia the climate varies but the dominant climate is affected by the Mediterranean Sea and the Saharan desert. During the summer the average temperature in the Sahara can reach up to 50°C and during the night between 30°C and 40°C while in winter it is generally cool and dry.
