When a man fathers a child in his late 40s, or 50s, nobody bats an eyelid. Yet, when a rockin’ lady has a kid at that age, there is a glut of interest and attention and it isn’t all positive.

The truth of things is that everyone is different and everyone’s life decisions are different too. Thus, if you are so inclined to start or extend your family at any age, then go for it! We are not going to judge you.

Here are a few more stars that made that leap after the age of 40.

Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig

It’s two for the price of one here, as the Mummy actress and the James Bond star have announced that they are expecting their first child together. Weisz is 48 and Craig has turned 50.

They both have kids from previous relationships, but have decided that they are ready to make the next step together, as a couple.

Janet Jackson and Wissam Al Mana

Both pop superstar, Jackson, and her partner, Wissam Al Mana are well into their 40s. Jackson is now 52, but according to E! Online, she was 49 when she became pregnant with her fist child.

Al Mana, who is a few years her junior, is renowned as a successful businessman and the pair have been seeing each other since the early 10s.

Kelly Preston and John Travolta

Preston was almost 50 when she had her last child with John Travolta, who was much closer to 60 than he was 50. The pair still seem to have plenty of life left in them and we wouldn’t even be surprised if they had another child.

Marcia Cross

Desperate Housewives star celebrated her 45th birthday by welcoming not one, but two, adorable children into the world with her little-known spouse Tom Mahoney, who was coming close to his 50th birthday at the time.

Susan Sarandon

Susan Sarandon had two children in her 40s. When she 43 in 1989 and again in 1992, when she was 46.

Jeff Goldblum

Goldblum fathered two children in his 60s with his 30-something partner Emilie Livingston. His kids are called Charlie Ocean and River Joe; two very cute and very funky names.

Mick Jagger and Ronnie Wood   

Both members of The Rolling Stones have fathered children in recent years – Jagger at the age of 73 and Wood at the age of 68.
