Divorce is never easy, particularly when there are children in the mix.

Unfortunately, that is something that A-list stars Anna Faris and Chris Pratt are all too familiar with.

The pair have been opening up on their recent split in interviews all this week, with Pratt stating that "divorce sucks", but also adding that the pair are still quite kind to each other.

It is refreshing to see such an approach to a marital split, particularly when many of Hollywood's splits are far from amicable.

Faris spoke to SiriusXM's Hits 1 in Hollywood this week and in a wide ranging interview, she discussed the split. She commented: "We have a great friendship, we really do and we always have. And it's always tough to envision your future as one thing, but I think there is a lot of love. And in what we do there is so much [unpredictability.]"

Both of them are quite busy at the moment, with Pratt promoting the new Jurassic Park movie, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. The Parks and Recreation star reprises his role of Owen Grady in the film.

Meanwhile Faris is on the promotional trail for Overboard. This is a remake of the 1987 film of the same name, where a wealthy yacht owner is thrown overboard after he becomes the target of revenge from his mistreated employee.

While discussing her career, Faris stated that she fully intends to just focus on promoting her movies and not talking about her private life. She said: "I think it's a lesson learned a little bit in terms of keeping relationships a little more private, potentially, even though I pride myself on being a pretty open person. But, I don't know, it's tough when you're under the scrutiny."

She added that she now sees the importance of maintaining a sense of independence. She added: "I think it means valuing yourself. I was such an insecure kid that if anybody [was] remotely attractive liked me I was just completely smitten. Like, I can't believe the popular guy likes me. I think my mom was always trying to reiterate: Value yourself, value yourself. We talk about that on the podcast a lot, about how women tend to not have strong egos as men and don't really prioritize themselves."

The world first heard about Chris and Anna's split in August of last year, when they announced that they were "legally separating". They filed for divorce at the end of 2017.
