In past articles, we have covered many of the celebrities who believe in astrology. It is quite common for well-known people to have a passing interest in the stars.

However, we don't think we have ever written about someone who takes it as seriously as former NFL star, Ricky Williams.

Williams was an excellent running back during his NFL career and it now appears that his life is taking him in a different direction. In a recent interview with CNBC, he told reporters that he relies on the stars when he is considering a majour decision.

The accomplished sportsman has even studied astrology and also added that he will use this practice before investing in certain areas.

He said: "When I look at things, I tend to look at astrology to get insight."

Amazingly, Williams added that it was astrology that pushed him towards his decision to invest in Bitcoin. He said: "The insight that got me interested in Bitcoin was the planet Uranus is about to enter into Taurus. (Uranus) is about revolution; it's about a change in the way we do things; it's about innovation." And Taurus "is about resources and finances," says Williams.

The impact of Uranus will cause society to "to totally change the way we view and understand" finances, he added.

Williams also said that he thinks that current structures are set to disappear, adding: "I think as people are starting to become disillusioned with our institutions, that things like blockchain and cryptocurrency, it's the perfect time for them to catch fire and really change the way we do things. So, you know, I had to get a little piece of that action."

He has put his money where his mouth is, spending $50,000 of his own money on Bitcoin.

Williams isn't bothered by the volatile market which cryptocurrencies exist. For instance, Bitcoin has lost close to 50 percent of its value since reaching a high of near $20,000 in late 2017.

He said: "Especially with the planet Uranus and change, [it's] always going to be volatile in the beginning. But, still, it's more of a conscious choice to contribute to the change. If I do well, then great. If not, I'll still feel like I did my part to contribute to things moving forward."

The former footballer now considers himself a professional astrologer. According to CNBC, he charges $300 for 90-minute sessions where he gives personal readings.
