Important storms dropped hailstones the size of tennis balls on Monday in Queensland, Australia.

Hundreds of cars and buildings were damaged in South-East Queensland. People say they could hear car windows smashing outside due to the heavy hailstones. Community service authorities said there were no reports of major injuries. However, one person was taken to hospital because of serious head injuries after he was struck by a large piece of hail. The Weather Bureau correctly forecasted dangerous storms with strong risks of hail but no one expected the hailstones to be so large.
