The Oscars came and went again this year with very few surprise winners.

It was a year for predictability when it came to choosing who'd take home the coveted gong, with Gary Oldman winning best actor and Frances McDormand taking home the best actress statue.

Astrology buffs watched with interest, to see which sign won the most awards.

Here's the answer to that question...

Best actor
Gary Oldman, Darkest Hour – WINNER!

As an Aries, Oldman is known for going headfirst into difficult tasks. It's a sign that doesn't shirk responsibility and this trait was obvious in his portrayal of the former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill. Oldman gives his all in every role and really lives up to that element of his sign.

Best actress
Frances McDormand, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri – WINNER!

McDormand follows other Cancer sign actresses into the history books, for her incredible performance within Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. Meryl Streep and Ginger Rogers are previous winners who also fall into this star sign.

Best supporting actor
Sam Rockwell, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri – WINNER!

Her co-star, Rockwell, is a Scorpio. This probably boded well for his performance, as people born under this star are renowned for their clear thinking and intelligence - two qualities which are essential if you want to be a good actor.

Best supporting actress
Allison Janney, I, Tonya – WINNER!

Another Scorpio here. Janney is an amazing actress and if you are not familiar with her work, then we would advise getting yourself accustomed. Start off with The West Wing and start from there.

Best animated film
Coco – WINNER!

Lee Unkrich, the movie's director, was born on August 08, 1967. This makes him a Leo. They are known for their undying optimism and clever wit - two things that Coco has in abundance. This is one of the standout films of this year and is definitely worth your time.

Best director/ Best Picture
Guillermo del Toro, The Shape of Water – WINNER!

This Libra took home the statue for directing the fabulous movie, The Shape of Water. Libra's are usually emotional beings, who can feel empathy for anyone... even sea creatures, evidently. In a movie all about acceptance, del Toro is clearly a man who knows how to see past the obvious.

Best original screenplay
Get Out – WINNER!

Jordan Peele is the first Pisces to make our list. Traditionally Pisces are known for their passion, something that his movie Get Out has no shortage of. If you haven't seen the psychological thriller, then we would suggest buckling up and giving it a view. It's not what you expect.
