One of the most famous celebrity feuds in the history of show business appears to at its end..

Musical titans, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry, were enemies. Everyone knows this. The pair famously fell out a few years back, with Swift notably writing the song 'Bad Blood', which many interpreted as a direct dig at Perry.

E! News spoke to a source who is close to Perry about the issue and they said that Perry recently extended an olive branch to Swift and she is relieved that she accepted it.

"She has been self-reflecting lately and feels it's better to clear the air than to have public disagreements and uncomfortable tension with people. She wants all of the negative energy cleared from her life."

The source went onto say that Katy "was happy that Taylor was accepting and took the time to post about it." Another source said that Taylor was "really moved" by Perry's gesture and that she felt as though "it was incredibly heartfelt."

The source also gave information about why Perry decided to cull the tension. She said: "Katy is on a great path and is very happy in her life right now, and she wanted nothing but to make up with a long lost friend. She has been thinking about this for a very long time."

She added: "Katy knows they won't be immediate friends anytime soon, but is happy to be able to turn the page of their negative chapter. Katy hopes they will be back to being friends in the future, hanging out and supporting each other at their shows, but knows either way that she did her part to end the bitterness."

These joyful scenes are a far cry from previous quotes, where Perry and Swift took swipes at each other via various interviews.

For instance, in a 2014 interview, Swift said this about her 'unnamed' inspiration for Bad Blood: “For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not. She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, ‘Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?’ [Then last year] She did something so horrible. I was like, ‘Oh, we’re just straight-up enemies.’

"And it wasn’t even about a guy! It had to do with business. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me. And I’m surprisingly non-confrontational – you would not believe how much I hate conflict. So now I have to avoid her. It’s awkward, and I don’t like it…But I don’t think there would be any personal problem if she weren’t competitive.”

Perry Tweeted this shortly after that interview: "“Watch out for the Regina George in sheep’s clothing…”

It's good to see that this war of words is over and the pair are buddies again... we just aren't holding our breath that it will last.
