Storm Desmond hit the UK on Saturday and as a result homes and roads were flooded in Scotland and northern parts of England. Hundreds of people were fourced to evacuate their homes or even whole areas. The River Eden at Appleby-in-Westmorland, Cumbria flooded and many properties were covered under a metre of water. The area that received the highest amount of rain was the village of Snap located in Cumbria with 178mm falling in 24 hours!
There is still the risk that the flooded areas will receive more rainfall in the next 24 hours, however it won't be as heavy as the last two days.
