Last tuesday, residents of the north-east of Italy (between Venice and Padua) were surprised to see in the sky a fireball, followed by a loud bang. Locals and specialists are now on the hunt for traces of that fireball which raced across the sky between 2.30am and 2.45am. Scientists expect to find traces of the meteorite in order to analyse it. The same phenomenon happened in Russia a few months ago and caused major damage.

A fireball, or meteor meteoroid scientifically defined, is a piece of rock the size of a small stone, which enters our atmosphere at very high speeds, which in certain circumstances may be more than the 260,000 km / h.

A surveillance camera settled in the right spot filmed the phenomenon.
