Mongolia is a country situated in east-central Asia. It counts a total population of approximately 3 million people and Ulaanbaatar is its capital and the largest city. In Mongolia you can find the wold's highest desert, the famous Gobi Desert. It has a great history as it was ruled by many different empires and dynasties such as the Mongol Empire, the Yuan Dynasty and the Qing Dynasty. The climate in this country is affected by the fact that it is located in the Northern Hemisphere temperate zone. In general it is a place with extreme temperatures. The average temperatures in Gobi desert can reach up to 40°C during the summer and -40°C during the winter. In the capital the average annual temperatures range from -16°C to 20°C.
