The climate for Warsaw

Located on the Vistula River, Warsaw is Poland’s largest city and capital. It has a population of approximately 1.7 million. It was named the “The Phoenix City” because it has survived many wars throughout history and had to be rebuilt after World War II. Most of the historic buildings were thoroughly reconstructed. It is a major economic hub in Central Europe and an important tourist destination. The city also features many tourist attractions such as the Royal Castle or the Market Square. The Mermaid statue, standing in the very centre of Old Town Square, is Warsaw’s symbol and its most famous landmark. It experiences a humid continental climate with hot summers and cold winters. In summertime the average temperature is 20°C but often reaches 30°C. In January, the average temperature is -3°C. July is the wettest month.
