Slovakia is a country in Central Europe. It counts a population of over five million and it is bordered by Poland in the north and Hungary in the south. Bratislava is the capital and the largest city of the country. The weather conditions vary between the hills of the North and the South of the country. Generally, the climate is more or less continental with minimums of -20°C and maximums of +37°C in Bratislava and Southern Slovakia which are the warmest regions. The winter in the capital is mild and between February and May snow is possible but it doesn't last more than a few days. Winters in the mountains are more severe and temperatures can be very low (-20°C) lasting until March or April sometimes. The weather conditions in Spring and Autumn are warm but with a higher possibility of rain.
