Sweden has a population of 9.5 million and is a Scandinavian country bordered by Finland and Norway. Most of the population lives in the southern part of the country in urban areas. The largest city, Stockholm is also the country's capital. It was ranked as the fourth most competitive country in the world in 2012 and is one of the world's most equal countries in terms of income. The country experiences three kinds of climates; an oceanic climate in the south, a humid continental climate in the central part and a subarctic climate in northern Sweden. Despite its northern location, the country remains drier and warmer than other countries on the same latitude due to the Gulf Stream. Temperatures vary from north to south. Southern and central Sweden enjoy warm summers with temperatures between 20°C to 25°C but has cold winters with a large amount of snowfall.
