The climate in Bodrum

An important port city in the south-western Aegean Region of Turkey, Bodrum has a population of almost 36,000. Bodrum was famous for housing the Mausoleum of Mausolus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The city is also home to the Bodrum Castle that overlooks the harbour and marina and was built by the Crusaders in the 15th century. The city is a popular destination for tourists thanks to its historic significance and pleasant climate. Bodrum has a Mediterranean climate characterised by hot and humid summers and mild and sunny winters. The average high temperature in summer is about 34°C. In winter, it is around 15°C with lows near 8°C. The annual rainfall is about 706mm with most falling during the winter months.
