The climate in Marmaris

Situated on the Turkish Riviera on the Mediterranean coast, Marmaris is a port town and tourist resort with a population of 34,047. A centre for sailing and diving, Marmaris’ main economic activity is tourism which causes its population to increase to 300,000 or 400,000 during the high seasons. The town’s charm lies in its location between two intersecting mountains by the sea. Marmaris is also known for its nightlife. The climate in the town is that of a Mediterranean climate. The summers are hot and humid with very little rainfall. Average high temperatures are around 34°C, but they can reach over 40°C during heat waves. Winters are cool and rainy with high temperatures around 15°C. Average annual precipitation is over 1,200mm, most of it falling between the months of November and March.
