The climate in Basildon

Situated 25 miles east of central London, Basildon is the largest town in the Basildon District in South Eastern England. It was one of the eight “New Towns” built in 1948 after World War II in order to accommodate the London population overspill. It is one of the reasons why most people living in Basildon are influenced by London culture. It is home to numerous modern architectural structures due to its economic growth. It benefits from the Essex climate, with cool summers and mild winters. August is on average the warmest month of the year and February the coldest month. Snowfall occurs between November and April.
