Bedford is the county town of Bedfordshire in the East of England. Just like the rest of England, Bedford has a temperate maritme climate with relatively warm summers and cold winters. Rain is present throughout the year but the annual average precipitation isn't very high (584mm). Even though some extreme temperatures have been recorded, for example, 35°C in August and -15°C in January, the range of temperatures is usually limited. Bedford was the home and prison of John Bunyan, the author of the Pilgrim's Progress.

The county town of Bedfordshire in the East of England, Bedford has a population of 80,000. It is found on the River Great Ouse. Along the river are a number of gardens, forming The Embankment. Located inside the gardens is the Bedford War Memorial. Other landmarks include the remains of Bedford Castle Mound and St. Paul’s Church. Bedford has a maritime climate like much of the UK. It is characterised by a limited range of temperatures and year-round rainfall. The average high temperatures in summer are around 18 to 21°C. In winter, the average highs are about 6°C with lows near 0°C. Average precipitation is 584mm a year.
