The climate in Chesterfield

Located in the East Midlands in England, Chesterfield is a market town of 103,800 inhabitants. Lying on the confluence of the rivers Rother and Hipper, it is Derbyshire’s largest town. The town is well known for its open air market, one of the largest in England. Traces of the mining industry are still visible today as well as its 14th century heritage, with the famous church’s ‘crooked’ spire. Vicar Lane, an open-air shopping centre situated between “Pavements Centre” and the “Crooked Spire”, is Chesterfield’s most popular place. The town’s average temperature in summer is 16°C, due to its maritime climate. Temperatures in wintertime rarely exceed 4°C. It experiences a high average of humidity and snowfall from December to March.
