The climate in Corby

Located twenty-three miles east of Northampton in Northamptonshire in the East Midlands of England, Corby is a borough with a population of 61,300. Since Roman times, the area has been worked for iron ore, and it became an important town for British steelworks during the 20th century. However, this industry has suffered from a major decline. Recently, new industry has been attracted to the borough. Corby has a maritime climate with cool summers and mild winters. The average high temperature in summer is 21°C with night time temperatures around 10°C. In winter, the average high temperature is around 6°C with lows near 0°C. Average annual precipitation is 586mm with rain spread throughout the year. The town experiences typically 1,353 hours of sunshine a year with summer having the sunniest days.
