The climate in Darlington

Lying on the small River Skerne, a tributary of the River Tees, in Durham in North East England, Darlington is a market town with a population of 106,000. The town is famous for being the terminus of the world’s first passenger railway. The town has a historic market area in the centre. It is also home to St Cuthbert’s Church, which was built in 1183 and is one of the most important early English churches in Northern England. Darlington has a climate characterised by cool to warm summers and mild winters. The average high temperature in summer is 21°C with night time lows near 12°C. In winter, the average high temperature is about 7°C with lows around 3°C. Precipitation is spread out fairly evenly over the course of the year. The town typically experiences an average of 20 days each month with some rainfall.
