The climate in Derby

On the banks of the River Derwent in the county of Derbyshire in the East Midlands of England, Derby has a population of 249,000. Origins of the city are Roman, Saxon, and Viking. The city was also a centre of Britain’s Industrial Revolution with the first powered saw mill. Popular landmarks include Derby Cathedral, Derby Gaol, and the Derby Industrial Museum. The Derby Playhouse is acclaimed for its productions. The climate in Derby is cold in the winter and fairly warm in the summer. The average temperature in winter is between 0 and 7°C. In summer, temperatures range from 11°C at night to 22°C during the day. Precipitation is higher during the winter months than during the summer.
