The climate in Exmouth

Found on the east bank of the mouth of the River Exe on the South Coast in East Devon in South West England, Exmouth is a port town, civil parish, and seaside resort with a population of 32,563. Recent settlement history of the area dates back to the 11th century. Established in the 18th century, it is regarded as the oldest holiday resort in Devon. Visitors were attracted by the views and medicinal salt waters. The town has a two mile long sandy beach that is limited by the cliffs of the High Land of Orcombe to the east. Exmouth has a mild climate characterised by warm summers and mild winters. The average high temperature in summer is around 21°C. The average highs in winter are about 9°C with lows near 3°C. Winter temperatures are typically warmer than places more inland. Rainfall occurs year-round with summer having the fewest rainy days per month.
