The climate in Falkirk

Situated in the Forth Valley between Edinburgh and Glasgow in the Central Lowlands of Scotland, Falkirk is a town with a population of 34,570. Thanks to its location at the junction of the Forth and Clyde Canal and the Union Canal, it became a centre of heavy industry during the Industrial Revolution. Today, the town remains the home of many international companies, but it also relies on retail and tourism. Popular attractions include the Falkirk Wheel, Callendar House and Park, and the remains of the Antonine Wall. Falkirk has a temperate maritime climate with mild winters and cool summers. The average high temperature in winter is 6°C with lows near -1°C. In summer, the average high temperature is about 20°C. Average annual precipitation is 925mm with rainfall occurring throughout the year.
