Gibraltar’s climate

Found on the southern end of the Iberian Peninsula at the entrance of the Mediterranean Sea, Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory with a population of almost 30,000. Gibraltar is a popular port for cruise ships and day visitors from Spanish resorts. The Rock of Gibraltar is a popular tourist attraction with its nature reserve. Dolphins and whales are often spotted in the Bay of Gibraltar. The territory is also a popular shopping destination with many British high street chains. Gibraltar has a subtropical Mediterranean climate featuring mild winters and warm summers. The average high temperatures in winter are around 13 to 14°C with lows near 10°C. In summer, the average high temperature is between 22 and 25°C. The territory receives an annual rainfall of 767mm with most precipitation falling during the winter months.
