The climate in Gatwick

Located north of the centre of Crawly, West Sussex and 29.5 miles south of Central London, Gatwick Airport is London’s second largest international airport and second busiest by total passenger traffic in the UK. Also known as London Gatwick, the airport has the busiest single-use runway in the world. Over 34 million people travel through the airport each year with flights arriving and departing for both domestic and foreign destinations. Gatwick has a climate characterised by cool to warm summers and mild winters. The average high temperature in summer is 22°C with night time lows around 12°C. In winter, the average high is 7°C with lows near 1°C. Average annual precipitation is 746mm, lower than the English average, with the months of October through January being the wettest. Gatwick has an average of 1,574 hours of sunshine a year.
