Middlesbrough, located near the Northeast coast of England in the county of North Yorkshire, is a lively and modern city. Located at the heart of the Tees Valley conurbation, a few miles from the edge of the North York Moors National Park, it offers great walk paths and landscapes. Also, as a university city, it has developed a lively student atmosphere and a significant nightlife. This is a peaceful city to relax and spend some good times.

Middlesbrough offers great walk paths and bike tours. Stewart Park is one of the best parks of the city. It is more like a botanical garden than an urban park, with long walk paths through woods. A part of it features an open air zoo with mainly small animals and birds, and an open grassy area often used for picnics. There are several amazing sculptures including a bronze one of the footballer Brain Clough. A really nice place!One must absolutely go to see a musical or cultural event whilst visiting Middlesbrough. The city hosts an important number of events during the year including concerts, orchestra and theatre plays. The Town Hall hosts lots of concerts and other performances of this kind. The most important multi-cultural event is the Middlesbrough Mela that attracts over 25.000 visitors every year in Albert Park. Don’t miss it!Why not check out the Captain Cook Birthplace Museum? This museum is really famous as it retraces the life of the local born explorer, Captain Cook who was born on the site of the museum. You will discover his childhood, his early career, the Royal Navy and life aboard a ship. There are full size models of people with commentaries, video displays, lots of artifacts and things from aboard the ships and the countries visited. This is a really unique and interesting place to visit!Another must see is Ormesby Hall. There are fine plasterworks, carved wood decoration and fascinating portraits. Ormesby has the only National Trust model railway layouts on permanent display. There is also an attractive garden of six acres. This is the place to escape from the noise of the town, go for a walk or run around with the family. An absolutely beautiful place to relax and recharge your batteries!
