Paisley’s climate

Located in the northern edge of the Gleniffer Braes on the banks of the White Cart Water in the west central Lowlands of Scotland, Paisley is a town with a population of 74,170. The town became a significant religious town in medieval Scotland thanks to the establishment of Paisley Abbey in the 12th century. Later, the town became an important centre of the weaving industry, giving name to the Paisley Shawl and the Paisley Pattern. Landmarks in the town include the abbey, Thomas Coats Memorial Church, and the Dooslan Stane. Paisley has a climate characterised by cool summers and mild winters. The average high temperature in summer is 19°C with night time lows near 10°C. In winter, the average high temperatures are around 4°C with lows near 0°C. Rainfall occurs year-round. Each month, there are about 19 to 25 days with some rain. Snow may occur during the winter months.
