The climate in Southampton

Situated on the south coast of England in the county of Hampshire, Southampton has a population of around 240,000. Lying at the northern tip of the Southampton Water, this British city is home to the longest stretch of medieval walls in England and several museums including the Southampton Maritime Museum. The city’s port is particularly known as it is where the Titanic set sail. The climate in Southampton is oceanic. Thanks to its low lying and sheltered location, Southampton offers warmer and sunnier weather than most UK cities. Average temperatures in the summer are around 22°C and in the winter near 3°C.
