The climate in Tenby

Found on the west side of Carmarthen Bay in Pembrokeshire in South West Wales, Tenby is a walled seaside town with a population of almost 5,000. The town’s harbour is a natural sheltered one from both the Atlantic Ocean and the Irish Sea. The town has 2.5 miles of sandy beaches and 13th century medieval town walls. At low tide, visitors can reach St. Catherine’s Island from Tenby. Popular attractions include the barbican gatehouse, the 15th century St. Mary’s Church, the Tudor Merchant House, and the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. Tenby has a maritime climate characterised by cool summers and mild winters. It often experiences high winds. The average high temperature in summer is about 19°C. In winter, it is about 8°C with lows near 3°C. The annual precipitation is about 1,106mm. Thanks to its location on the south west coast, it is one of the sunnier locations in the country.
