A large industrial town in the West Midlands of England, Walsall has a population of almost 175,000. It is found northwest of Birmingham and east of Wolverhampton. By the beginning of the 13th century, it was already established as a small market town. Walsall developed largely thanks to the industries that the Industrial Revolution brought to it.
