Weymouth is a seaside town in Dorset. The city is a protected bay and offers a climate similar to cities in southern England - summers and winters are warmer than anywhere else in Great Britain. Situated on the coast in Dorset in South West England, Weymouth is at the mouth of the River Wey on the English Channel. With a population of 52,400, Weymouth is a popular tourist resort thanks to its harbour and attractions. It is also a gateway to the Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Popular attractions include its beaches and coast, museums such as the Brewers Quay and Nothe Fort, and the aquarium. The climate in Weymouth is temperate. The average high temperature in summer is between 17 and 20°C with August being the hottest month. In winter, high temperatures are around 6 to 7°C. The annual precipitation is about 730mm. The sea temperature ranges from 7°C in winter to 17°C in summer.
