The climate in Boston

Boston has a population of about 626,000 inhabitants and is the capital of the state of Massachusetts. Founded by English colonists in the 17th century, The Cradle of Liberty is one of the oldest cities in the country. It is considered as an important place for education and medicine with its numerous colleges and universities. Visitors enjoy the abundance of museums, theatres and old buildings referring to New England. The Old State House is a highly appreciated place as it tells the story of the Boston Massacre. It has a continental climate with a maritime influence. The highest temperature in summertime is 27°C although it usually doesn’t exceed 25°C. The coldest month of the year is January when the temperature goes below -2°C. The weather is warm, humid and rainy with 2 to 3 months of snowfall in wintertime.
