Zimbabwe is a country situated in southern Africa, between the Zambezi and Limpopo rivers. It is bordered by South Africa, Botswana, Zambia and Mozambique to the east. It has a total population of approximately 13 million people with Harare its capital and the largest city. The country offers a great variety of scenery like the Victoria Falls (one of the Seven Wonders of the World), Hwange National Park, Kariba, Gonarezhou National Park, Eastern Highlands, the Great Zimbabwe Monument, and Nyanga. The climate in Zimbabwe is tropical but it still varies according to the altitude. It has two seasons, the dry season between May and September with some light rain at times and the rainy season between November and March. The whole country is affected by the Intertropical Convergence Zone during January. The average temperatures in the central Highveld plateau reach up to 28°C. In Hwange and Zambezi NP the temperatures are higher all year-round reaching up to 31°C. In Mana Pools, Matusadona and Gonarezou it is even warmer with temperatures up to 35°C.
